Potato and Tapioca Starches Commonly prepared as a white amorphous tasteless
powder, starch is an abundant nutrient carbohydrate
found largely in seeds, fruits, tubers, roots, and stem
pith of plants, notably in corn, potatoes, wheat and rice.
Potato Starch Often used as a binder and thickener in a wide variety
of food applications including sauces and soups,
canned vegetables, convenience foods, meat products

Tapioca Starch
This product goes by several names across the continents,
known by the English word cassava, madioca in Brazil
and parts of South America, manioc in French speaking
Africa, yucca in Spanish speaking countries and finally in
Asia, where the large production is done in Vietnam and
Thailand, it is known as tapioca. No matter what name it
goes by there are multiple applications much like with
potato starch as mentioned above. |
